Both Wayne High and Wayne State College baseball teams will open postseason action with district and conference tourney brackets being posted.
According to a release from the NSAA, Wayne High has earned the #2 seed in the C-3 District Tournament set to open on Thursday, May 7 in Central City.
The Blue Devils (13-13) recently dropped one-run games of 7-6 against Lincoln Lutheran on May 1 in Wayne and 5-4 (10 innings) on May 2 against Platte Valley in Yutan.
Wayne will face #3 Douglas County West (7-14) at 4:30 p.m. Game one on May 7 will be the district host #1 Central City/Centura (14-5) vs. #4 Aurora (5-15) at 2 p.m.
The two winners will play for a spot in the Class C State Tournament on May 8 at TBA.
Six District champions will join two wildcard teams making up the eight-team bracket for the Class C State Baseball Championships set to open Saturday, May 16.

Per the NSIC, Wayne State College will be the #5 seed in the NSIC Baseball Tournament set to begin on Wednesday, May 6 in Sioux Falls, SD.
The Wildcats (29-21, 21-16 NSIC) are on a six-game winning streak following a home series sweep over Jamestown on May 1 with wins of 4-2 and 6-5 along with a 7-4 win on May 2.
WSC will face #4 Sioux Falls at noon from Ronken Field in Sioux Falls, SD on May 6 during the double elimination bracket.
