Wayne wins wild dual at Creighton

The Wayne High wrestling team improved to 9-0 in duals with a wild win at Creighton Thursday, coming home with a 42-41 victory.

Wayne used pins by Hunter Jorgensen and Juan Vergara and five Creighton forfeits to build a 42-12 lead. Creighton won the last five weight classes, but the difference was Steven Keiser avoiding a pin at 145 pounds. His loss by technical fall was worth five team points, which wound up being the difference in the dual.

The Blue Devils host their own tournament on Saturday at Wayne High School. Action begins at 10 a.m.
