While several Wayne High wrestlers continue to put in the work to prepare for their upcoming NSAA winter sports season, a few were recently in the news with June events.

Nyla Bolles and Anna Naeve both traveled to Fort Lauderdale, Florida June 26 - 28 for the AAU Scholastic Duals held in Florida while Naeve and Alex Ziska along with Grant Maas took to separate locations the weekend prior. All wrestlers saw their challenges and competed against top competition from across the country.

Bolles posted a 9-0 record over the opening two days before suffering an injury in her first match which sidelined her the remainder of competition.

Her team, the Hula Hit Squad earned a sixth place finish in the All-Star Gold bracket.

Naeve recorded a 9-2 record over the three days.

She helped the Aloha Assassins be crowned champions in the Progressive Gold bracket.

Both Bolles and Naeve were named All-American following their performances in Florida.

Also, Alex Ziska and Naeve competed in the 2025 Women's National Duals in Indiana June 18 - 20. Ziska went 5-3 as Naeve went 2-7 during her first freestyle tournament.

Grant Maas was represented in Milwaukee, Wisconsin also June 18 - 20. He qualified for the USA National Grecco and Freestyle Team.

Maas wrestled in the 157 weight class but also traded in for the 165 class. He went 2-7 in the Greco/Freestyle tournament.

Grant Maas will be competing in with the Nebraska USA National Team at the 2025 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals in July.
