Four divisions were showcased for the Wayne Wrestling Club during the NEUSA State competition on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 – 16.
From the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island, 24 youth represented the Wayne Wrestling Club among girls prek – kindergarten, girls and boys 1st – 8th grade as well as girls and boys high school.
During the high school state competition, Nyla Bolles (girls 9-12 141 lb) earned a silver medal; Anna Naeve (girls 9-12 148 lb) took fifth; Megan Magnuson (girls 9-12 135 lb) placed seventh; Gracelynn Daniels (girls 9-12 123 lb) finished eighth; Grant Maas (boys 9-12 155 lb) earned a fourth place medal as sixth place performances came from both Grady Maas (boys 9-12 109 lb) and Taven Ocampo (boys 9-12 163 lb).
From the girls 1st – 8th action, Alexandria Ziska (7th – 8th E Group 4 165 lb) earned a silver medal while Zoe Bolles (7th – 8th E Group 4 138 lb) placed fourth as Lucille Oacmpo (7th – 8th E Group 4 120lb) and Ayvree Abler (7th – 8th E Group 4 126 lb) both earned points.
In the boys 1st – 8th grade division, Barrett Hanson (3rd-4th A Group 3 105 lb) won his weight class as Brock Hansen (3rd-4th A Group 3 95 lb) earned a sixth place state medal while Lincoln Nelson (3rd-4th A Group 3 85 lb.), Trexton Ocampo (3rd-4th A Group 3 90 lb), Mason Nelson (5th-6th C Group 1 80 lb) and Dominic Surber (5th – 6th C Group 3 160 lb) all earned points.
During the girls prek – kindergarten state competition, Kollins Koch (49 – 51 lb) earned a silver medal while Raelyn Collins (41 – 44) placed seventh.
