Ahead of a busy stretch of competition, Wayne Junior High wrestlers took part in their third event of November.
From Plainview, Wayne sent 10 wrestlers during the Plainview boys JH Invite on Thursday, Nov. 21.
From the 20 schools in action, the Blue Devils finished 10th as a team with 47.5 points.
Battle Creek (22 wrestlers) won the Plainview Junior High Boys Invite with 186 points, Plainview (13) followed in runner-up with 133 points, Pierce (19) took third with 123.5 points, O’Neill (24) placed fourth with 117.5 points and Neligh-Oakdale (14) rounded out the top five teams with 91 points.
Wayne JH was led by their lone champion being Blake Heithold (86 lb) while Tyler Daniels (86) finished third.
Others who scored points included Angel Lux (101) and Isaiah Zarate (118) both recorded six points; Joshua Carrillo (124) added 5.5 points; Gerson Torres (112), Clifton Kaup (150) and Jesus Ozuna (175) with three points while Javier Zavala (130) added a point.
Jesus Vargas (150B) was also in action.
