Weekend Wildcat scores

Two Wayne State College sporting events were in Wayne America while another traveled for a top 20 NCAA DII volleyball showdown over the weekend.

From Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College on Oct. 25, WSC protected home turf with a 35-20 victory over #9 Minnesota State-Mankato.

The Wildcats (4-4/4-3 NSIC/2-1 South Division) will next visit Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday, Nov. 1 at noon.

Also on Saturday, #6 Wayne State College made quick work of #18 Minnesota Duluth thanks to a 3-0 road sweep (25-21, 25-20, 25-19).

WSC (20-3/13-1 NSIC) will return home on Friday, Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. hosting MSU Moorhead followed by a home match on Saturday, November 1 at 2 p.m. entertaining Minnesota Crookston. 

Moving into Sunday, the Wayne State College women's soccer team snapped a two-match losing streak thanks to a 4-2 victory over Jamestown (ND).

WSC (6-5-4/5-5-2 NSIC) will close out their regular season with three straight road matches. The Wildcats will visit St. Cloud State on Friday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m., travel to Minnesota State-Mankato on Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. and end NSIC play on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 3 p.m. at Augustana.
