This school year Alma White, fifth grader at Laurel-Concord-Coleridge School, ran for Nebraska’s Kid Governor.
Last fall, White was one of the final seven candidates in the 2025 Nebraska Kid Governor Election.
The students created campaign videos outlining why they want to be Nebraska’s first Kid Governor®. They created a three point plan outlining ways for Nebraska's fifth graders to make a difference. The students learned what leadership qualities they have and about community issues important to them.
White had to create a campaign video and was first elected by her fifth grade class before moving onto the state election. She was elected to be on the cabinet.
Recently she was at the state capitol building in Lincoln for her official inauguration with a few other students across Nebraska that were also elected.
