Ahead of a weekend road tournament, the Wayne High softball team was back on their home diamond for a second time last week.
From the Wayne Softball Complex, the Blue Devils hosted the NEN Vipers (Pender/Wisner-Pilger).
Wayne High used even scoring in back-to-back innings to win 12-0 over NEN to improve to 14-6. The Vipers are now 13-9.
The Blue Devils scored six runs in both of the first and second innings and held NEN scoreless to win 12-0. WHS held a 7-0 advantage in hits as the Vipers committed two errors compared to none by Wayne High.
Nyla Bolles recorded a solo home run while Mackenzie Nissen doubled, drove in three runs and scored twice.
Kinnley McGuire singled, drove in a run and scored twice; Lily Gubbels singled and drove in two runs; Reagan McGuire and Rylin Hall both singled and scored twice; Sammi Gubbels singled; Lilly Johnson accounted for a RBI as Jordyn Gamble scored.
Sammi Gubbels (31 pitches) recorded the three inning perfect game not allowing a hit or run while striking out one batter of the nine faced.
