It’s been a busy November for the Wayne State College women’s and men’s club wrestling program.
From the Buffalo County Fairgrounds, the Wildcat men’s club wrestling team continued their season during the Younes Hospitality Open hosted by UNK in Kearney this past Saturday.
Among the 46 total teams, the WSC men had nine wrestlers in action.
The WSC men’s club wrestlers were led by Gavin Zoucha with seven team points followed by Tristin Grim (285) with three team points.
Other wrestlers in action were Zachary Bongers (133), Tucker Ninete (141), Hayden Williams (141), Caleb Berg (149), Nolan Stanton (165) and Anthony Scala (285).
Also, Chance Sjulin competed in the Elite 174 weight class.
Complete results can be found under track wrestling as the Wildcat wrestlers began their season on Nov. 2 during the Colorado State Invitational in Fort Collins, Colorado. The WSC men’s wrestling team then traveled to Mitchell, South Dakota on Nov. 9 for the Dakota Wesleyan Open. On Nov. 16, the Wayne State College women’s club wrestling team competed at the University of North Texas Mean Green Fall Brawl in Denton, Texas. Both teams also competed against Midland and Southeast Community College on Nov. 12 during a dual format (no results on track wrestling).
Both WSC women’s and men’s club wrestling teams will next compete at the Conner-Oppenheim Open hosted by Doane University in Crete on Dec. 7.
