NSIC South Division play took over the past two games for Wayne State College on the hardwood.
In mid-week action, the Wildcat men won 91-79 at Rice Auditorium over Sioux Falls (Dec. 3) and followed with a 75-71 loss at Southwest Minnesota State and were outscored by 22 points in the second half (Dec. 6). WSC is now 5-4 overall, 1-2 NSIC.
For the Wildcat women, the 'Cats first lost 77-54 vs. Sioux Falls and suffered an 84-58 decision at SMSU. WSC is now 6-3, 1-2 NSIC.
In men's action, Aurrion Harrirs led WSC with 22 points and 15 rebounds against USF (two pts, seven boards at SMSU) as Matt Noll (at SMSU) posted a team-high 23 points (averaged 19 ppg). Both Harris and Noll (eight assists) accumulated six steals in the past two games.
Other double figure average leaders on the weekend were Andrew Stokes (13/17) and JJ Ferrin (12/11).
During women's competition, Kylah vanDonkersgoed led WSC with 16 points against USF (two points at SMSU) while Tenleigh Smith averaged 13 points and grabbed 11 total rebounds over the past two games.
Meg Reitz (5 pts on Dec. 3) and Rachel Dahlen (6 pts on Dec. 3) both scored 14 points in the road loss. Reitz also dished out five total assists as Dahlen led the team in blocks (three).
The Wayne State College men and women will next visit Minnesota State-Mankato on Dec. 11 at 5:30/7:30 p.m. and St. Cloud State on Dec. 13 at 2/4 p.m. The MSU-Mankato women are #2 in DII.
