The Wayne State women's rugby team is two wins away from their 10th national title after getting through the first day unscathed in the National Small College Rugby Organization 7-on-7 women's national championships in Pittsburgh, Pa.
The Wildcats defeated Swathmore (21-0), Colagate University (26-12) and Findlay (19-7) to win their pool and advance to the quarterfinals. They moved on to Sunday's semifinal round with a 29-0 shutout of York (Pa.) College.
Wayne State was to play Simpson (Iowa) College in the semifinals at 9 a.m., with the winner facing either Rochester (N.Y.) or Endicott (Mass.) in the finals at 11 a.m.
