The Wayne State cross country teams completed their season Saturday in the NCAA Div. II Central Regional held at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo.
Junior Dylan Kessler and senior Isaias Solorio were the top two finishers for the Wildcat men, who placed 24th out of 28 teams. Kessler covered the 10,000-meter course in 33:40 to finish 129th out of 192 runners, while Solorio was 131st in 33:42.
Bailey Peckahm finished 143rd in a time of 33:58, followed by Bryce Holcomb (149th, 34:11), Nathan Pearson (160th, 34:53), Jesus Arellano (172nd, 35:50) and Brock Hegarty (176th, 36:19).
In women’s action, the Wildcats were 27th out of 35 teams and were led by Molly McCartney, who finished 120th out of 237 runners in a time of 24:09 on the 6,000-meter course. Joan Jalimo was next, finishing 128th in 24:21.
Also running were Wayne native Andrea Torres, finishing 164th in 25:06, followed by Kim Lowman (176th, 25:22), Allie Rosener (177th, 25:22), Amanda Mote (192nd, 25:45) and Joana Sato (199th, 26:03).
