Minnesota State held a commanding 18-1 advantage in shots during the first period, but Wayne State found themselves only trailing 2-1 after 45 minutes of play.

The lone score of the second half came at the 60:46 mark when Wendell scored her second goal of the game giving the Mavericks the 3-1 win.
“Much like our record, the score today doesn’t reflect this group’s effort and fight,” commented Wildcat head coach Joe Cleary. “Minnesota State has a good squad and we battled with them and were very unlucky to not have it be a closer contest. I’m proud of how we finished out the season.”
Minnesota State finished the match with a 23-4 advantage in shots over Wayne State including 13-2 in shots on goal. The Mavericks held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Stasi led Wayne State with one goal. Megan Phillips had the other Wildcat shot on goal while Rylie Wehner and Rachel Fraser were each credited with shots while Fraser assisted on Stasi’s goal.
Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Bagley was credited with 10 saves in the contest while allowing three goals.
The Wildcats end the season 4-12-1, including a 4-10-1 NSIC mark.
