Wildcat soccer falls at Duluth, 1-0

Minnesota Duluth scored 11 minutes into the second half and made it stand up as the Bulldogs edged Wayne State in a 1-0 decision Friday night in Duluth, Minn.
The Bulldogs scored the lone goal of the contest at the 56:44 mark as Lizzy Fontes got a shot past goalkeeper Kylie Comba. The Bulldogs outshot Wayne State 15-6 in the contest.
Valerie Hernandez had three of Wayne State’s six shots with two shots on goal to lead the Wildcat attack. Kelsey Engstrom added one shot on goal while Lauren Fleming and Samantha Phillips were each credited with shots. Comba made eight saves while allowing just one goal in the setback.
The Wildcats (7-5-3, 4-5-3 NSIC) will visit St. Cloud State Sunday in a 1 p.m. NSIC contest.
