NSIC Cross Country Championships were in Wayne America ahead of the weekend on Oct. 24.
From the Wayne Country Club with sunny skies earlier in the afternoon, the WSC women finished 12th out of 16 teams scoring 325 points.
Sophomore Allie Czapla was the top Wildcat runner finishing 58th crossing the finish line in a time of 24:17.3.
Freshman Kyla Krusemark from Wayne (Pender HS) was next for WSC in 67th place overall at 24:25 and junior Callie Kirchner took 73rd with a time of 24:31.6.
Other Wildcat results in the team scoring came from sophomore Kaitlyn Bloomenrader (92nd - 25:17.9) and senior Sydney Escritt (97th - 25:31.6).
Additional Wildcat results were posted by senior Maelee Beacom (99th – 25:42.2), senior Madeline Kunz (115th – 26:37.7) and junior Meghan Cunningham (120th – 27:06.3).
Winona State University captured the team title with 28 points to finish ahead of second place Minnesota State-Mankato (57). Senior Sophia Taarud from Winona State University won the women's 6K in a time of 21:19.6 among the 139 runners.
The Wayne State women's and men's cross country program will next race on Nov. 8 at the NCAA Central Region Championships in Joplin, Missouri. The Wildcat women will run at 10 a.m.
