Wildcat women finish second, four inside top 10

With one final Fall outing on the schedule for Wayne State College women’s golf, an early Oct. invite brought back a runner-up team finish.

From the Lochland Country Club in Hastings, WSC joined six other women’s teams during the 2024 Nebraska Intercollegiate Oct. 4 – 5.

The Wildcat women finished second place with a 628 (318/310). Bellevue University won the two-day invite with rounds of 307 and 310 for a 617.

Wayne State College was led by Camryn Johnson in third place (79/74) with a 153; Saffire Sayre tied for fifth (82/75) with a 157 as Erica Lee (78/83) and Hailey Kenkel (79/82) both tied for ninth with a 161.

Abby Brodersen tied for 12th (83/79) for a 162.

Nebraska-Kearney followed in third (640), Doane took fourth (649) and Concordia (Seward) rounded out the top five teams with a 701.

Tilde-Li Anderson from Bellevue University won by two  shots with rounds of 76 and 74 for a 150 among the 35 golfers.

The Wayne State College women’s golf team will close out their Fall schedule on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 14 – 15 during the Sioux Falls Invite. The two-day event will take place at The Falls Golf Club in Larchwood, Iowa.
