The Wayne State College women’s outdoor track and field team moved up one spot to 20th in the latest U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Div. II Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Team Computer Rankings.
Wayne State received a total of 55.45 points in the national rankings, based on performers who have achieved NCAA automatic and/or provisional qualifying marks during the regular season. The Wildcats are one of three teams from the NSIC listed in the Top 25, with Minnesota State 12th and Minnesota Duluth 25th.
Individually for Wayne State, junior thrower Michaela Dendinger ranks first in NCAA Division II with an automatic qualifying mark of 204 feet, 4 inches, third in the shot put with a provisional mark of 51-3 1/2, and fifth in the discus with an automatic qualifying mark of 172-10.
