Following a week-off from competition, the Wayne State College women’ s soccer team continued with their third of four road NSIC outings.
From Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minnesota, WSC visited Concordia-St. Paul on Sunday.
Wayne State College was unable to hold onto the first half lead. The host Golden Bears secured the 3-1 win thanks to three second half goals. CSP is now 6-3-3 (4-3-1 NSIC) while the Wildcats fell to 4-4-3 (3-2-2 NSIC).
Alaina Sorensen scored in the 31st minute (30:40) to give WSC the early 1-0 lead. Concordia-St. Paul tied the game in the 55th minute (54:02), took a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minute (61:31) and extended the lead in the 78th minute (77:22).
Final favored CSP winning 3-1.
Sorensen placed her lone shot attempt in the back of the net while Morgan Rhodes, Erin Peters, Maia Vacks and Neleah Dunlap all had a shot on goal. Paige Pemberton attempted one shot.
Sidney Truman was in goal all 90 minutes. She recorded five saves and allowed three goals.
Concordia-St. Paul outhit Wayne State College, 14-6 including 9-5 on goal. CSP recorded 10 corner kicks compared to a pair by the Wildcats.
The Wayne State College women’s soccer team will next visit Augustana University on Friday, Oct. 18 at 4 p.m.
