The Wayne State College baseball team faces Minot State in the opening round of the 2019 Northern Sun Conference Baseball Tournament on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Cloud, Minn.
The tournament was delayed one day due to rain.
It's the second time in three years that the two teams have met in the 4 vs. 5 first-round matchup, with Wayne State winning 5-2 over the Beavers in the 2017 first-round encounter.
Both teams enter the double-elimination NSIC Tournament with records of 32-16 overall. Minot State was fourth in the league this year at 24-10 with Wayne State fifth at 23-12.
The two teams met in Minot, N.D., on April 10 with both games going extra innings. MISU won the opener 6-3 in 10 innings, with Wayne State taking the second game 1-0 in eight innings.
