Wildcats compete in Griak Invitational


Wayne State’s cross country runners competed among more than 800 runners in the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday in St. Paul, Minn.
In the women’s 6,000-meter race, Andrea DeSimone led the Wildcats by finishing 188th out of 398 runners in a time of 26:26. Lexi Oswald was next for the Wildcats, finishing 266th in 27:43. Other runners included Jamie Larsen (286th, 28:10), Josephine Peitz (336th, 29:32) and Sarah Post (386th, 34:53).
In the men’s 8,000-meter race, Antoine Bardou had the best finish for the Wildcats, placing 70th out of 463 runners in 27:43. Isaias Solorio was next, placing 239th in 29:27. Also running were Corbin Lehn (340th, 31:03), Kak Ayai (351st, 31:23) and Joey Black (394th, 32:32).
Next action for the Wayne State runners is Saturday, Oct. 8 in the Briar Cliff Invitational at Adams Nature Preserve in McCook Lake, S.D.
