MINOT, N.D. — Latravious Boyd ran for three touchdowns and quarterback Nick Bohn threw for four more as Wayne State rolled to a 48-22 win at Minot State on Saturday to improve to 4-1 (3-1 NSIC) on the season.

The Wildcats came up a yard short on their first drive, but scored on each of their next four possessions to take control of the contest.

Bohn found kendrick Watkins-Hogue on a three-yard pass to break the ice. After Minot State answered to tie the game, Bohn hit Ashten Schmaderer from 48 yards away to make it 13-7 and the Wildcats were off and running.

Boyd scored on a 20-yard run on the next drive to make it 20-7 early in the second, and a Beaver turnover led to a seven-yard score by Boyd to make it 27-7.

The Beavers got within 10 at the break with a touchdown and field goal to close out the first half, then recorded a safety to make it 27-19 early in the third quarter.

It was all ‘Cats after that as Wayne State scored on three of their next four possessions. Bohn scored on a two-yard run, ran another one in from nine yards out and Boyd closed out the scoring with an 87-yard gallop, the third longest in school history and the longest since an 85-yard scoring run by Devin Merkuuris against Upper Iowa in 2019.

The Wildcats are back home Saturday to host No. 19 Minnesota Duluth for homecoming. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Cunningham Field.
