Wayne State officially is the No. 5 seed for the Northern Sun Conference softball tournament that begins Thursday at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls, S.D.
The Wildcats will face No. 4 seed Augustana at 12 p.m., with the winner advancing to a 12 p.m. game Friday, likely against top-seeded Minnesota State.
Ten teams are in the double-elimination tournament, which runs through Saturday, April 30. The championship game is set for 2 p.m. The tournament champion receives the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Div. II Central Regional tournament, which runs May 6-8.
