Game number 11 closed out the Wayne State College football season during the 35th annual Incredible Edible Egg Bowl.
From Bob Cunningham Field on the campus of Wayne State College, WSC entertained Concordia-St. Paul Saturday afternoon.
Consistent running was shown by the Wildcats finishing with a 21-0 home victory. The Wildcats snapped a three-game losing streak ending their season at 7-4 (6-4 NSIC) while the Golden Bears lost their sixth straight falling to 2-9 (2-8 NSIC).
The lone points of the first came from Wildcat sophomore placekicker Boston Hensley knocking through a 25-yard field goal (6:37 remaining in first quarter).
WSC led 3-0 after the opening quarter.
Hensley tacked on a second field goal this time from 34 yards (10:58 left in second quarter) to put WSC up 6-0.
Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Kendrick Watkins-Hogue recovered a fumbled snap in the end zone for WSC (eight seconds remaining in half).
The Wildcats led 13-0 at the break.
Turnover on downs for both teams and a missed field goal by CSP made up most of the second half.
Wayne State College did score one final time when true freshman running back Akeem Knox rushed in from six yards out (6:32 left in third quarter). Senior quarterback Nick Bohn added the two-point conversion.
Neither team scored in the fourth as final favored Wayne State College winning 21-0.
Bohn joined Silas Fluellen (11,996) and Zach Osborn (10,569) among the only players with 10,000+ career total yards at WSC. He finishes his career with 10,076 total yards and also third all-time in career passing yards (8,559).
Bohn was 8-15 with 81 yards and sacked once while running the ball 12 times for 36 net yards. Knox, the WSC Egg Bowl MVP, carried the rock 30 times for 162 net yards and one score while fellow true freshman tailback Brennan Hayes followed with 93 yards on 11 attempts.
Watkins-Hogue finished with four receptions for 59 yards to lead the receiving core.
The Wildcats were led by senior linebacker Tyler LeClair with eight tackles (five solo), one sack and one tackle for loss as fellow senior linebacker Dexter Larsen added four tackles (three solo) and a half tackle for loss. The other sack was posted by senior linebacker Alex Schall (three tackles/one solo).
Wayne State College recorded 71 plays for 372 yards (291 rushing/81 passing) while Concordia-St. Paul was held to 203 yards on 49 plays (21 rushing/182 passing). WSC was 8-14 on third down, 1-2 on fourth down and scored all four trips inside the red zone compared to CSP going 2-13 on third down, 3-5 on fourth down and failed to score during their three trips inside the red zone. The Wildcats also dominated the time of possession, 36:24 to 23:36.
Senior linebacker Brayden Hilgemann was crowned MVP for the Golden Bears with a team-high 11 tackles.

Overall, 17 individuals were honored during the pregame on Senior Day.
