Wildcats slide four spots to #11

After splitting a pair of five-set home matches and adding a non-conference victory, Wayne State College dropped four spots in the most recent AVCA/TARAFLEX Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.

According to a release from Wayne State Athletics, #11 WSC received 730 points in voting conducted by various Division II coaches nationally.

Wayne State College is 18-4 overall and 11-2 in the NSIC.

The Wildcats secured a home victory over non-conference Peru State College last Tuesday, followed by a five-set loss against then #12 Southwest Minnesota State on Thursday and won in five over Sioux Falls on Hall of Fame Saturday.

MSU Denver (19-1) remains the top team with 34 first place votes. #2 Ferris State (22-0) remained the same and earned nine first place votes, #4 Cal Poly Pomona (18-1) moved up one spot with three first place votes as #5 Nebraska-Kearney (22-1) moved up a spot with the final first place vote.

Other NSIC teams rated inside the top 25 include #3 St. Cloud State (19-2) remained the same; #9 Concordia-St. Paul (16-4) moved up two spots; #10 Southwest Minnesota State (18-3) moved up two spots and #21 Northern State (15-5) moved up one spot. Minnesota Duluth (38 votes) was listed on two or more ballots.
