The Wayne State volleyball team held steady this week at No. 9 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. II coaches poll after splitting road matches with a loss at No. 7 Winona State and a win at Upper Iowa.
The Northern Sun Conference continued its dominance of the ratings with six teams ranked in the top 10. Minnesota Duluth, Southwest Minnesota State and Concordia-St. Paul are the top three teams, with Winona State moving up to No. 6 and Augustana falling two spots to No. 8. Northern State is also in this week’s rankings, staying at No. 13.
Adding in the MIAA schools in this week’s rankings, the Central Region accounts for 12 of the top 25 teams, including NIAA schools Nebraska-Kearney (4), Central Oklahoma (11), Washburn (14), Central Missouri (15) and Northwest Missouri State (17)
The Wildcats hosted No. 8 Augustana on Tuesday and will host top-ranked Minnesota Duluth on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by a matchup with St. Cloud State on Saturday at 4 p.m.
