Week two of the season showcased the third Wayne State College football game of 2025.
From Aberdeen, South Dakota on Sept. 13, WSC suffered a 26-7 loss at Northern State.
The Wildcats are now 1-2 on the season (1-1 NSIC).
Northern State held a 3-0 lead after the first quarter and remained ahead 6-0 at half.
The Wolves would score halfway through the second quarter (failed two-point conversion) and again less than a minute into the fourth to go up at most 19-0.
Wayne State College produced their lone points of the night on a 28-yard connection between Bennett Dannenbring and Keaten Bonderson (three catches for 43 yards) with 11:11 remaining in the game.
Northern State scored once more for a 26-7 final.
Dannenbring finished 14-25 for 124 yards with one touchdown but three interceptions and was sacked seven times.
Dawson Forgy carried the rock 16 times for 82 yards. He also had three catches for 12 yards.
Brennan Hayes added 10 rushes for 54 yards.
Wayne native Alex Phelps posted a team-high four catches for 50 yards (long of 19).
James Frank recorded a team-high nine tackles (five solo) with a tackle for loss as Mitchell Andersen added seven tackles (five solo).
Alex Kowalczyk (six tackles, four solo, one TFL) and Kahmel Johnson (five tackles, two solo) both had an interception. Luke Lambert recovered a fumble.
