Wildcats sweep Bobcats

A busy week began Tuesday night with one final non-conference match for #7 Wayne State College volleyball.

From Rice Auditorium, WSC welcomed Peru State College.

The host Wildcats secured the 3-0 sweep to improve to 17-3 overall (remained 10-1 in NSIC) as the visiting Bobcats remained 11-16 on the season following their exhibition match.

Scores of the match favored WSC 25-11, 25-17, 25-8 with all 18 players on the roster able to get in for at least one set.

Double figure kill leaders were Brooklyn Kusler (.536) with 16 kills, two digs and three blocks as Taya Beller (.688) followed with 11 kills and three blocks. Molly Romano posted 37 assists, two digs and two blocks as Brooke Peltz led WSC in digs with 13.

Channatee Robles added seven kills, six digs and a block; Maggie Brahmer tacked on five kills, one dig and two blocks; Ella Myler tallied two kills and a block as Chloe Hanel totaled two kills and four blocks (one solo). Single kills came from Taylor Bunjer, Laney Kathol (one block), JoLee Ryan (two blocks) and Ava Spies. Other digs came from Anna Borner (four), Allie Petry (three), Rhianna Wilhelm (two), Jordi Nekl (one) and Gracen Evans (on).

Robles finished with four service aces as Peltz, Kusler and Beller all had an ace.

Wayne State College outhit Peru State, .482 to .100. WSC also held advantages in points (64-28), kills (47-24), aces (7-2), blocks (10-2) assists (41-23) and digs (35-28).
