The Wayne State volleyball team moved up one spot to 21st in this week’s American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. II Top 25 coaches poll.

The Wildcats improved to 10-6 on the season and 4-3 in the NSIC with three home sweeps last week over South Dakota School of Mines, Minnesota Crookston and Bemidji State. It’s the 108th consecutive national ranking for the WSC volleyball program dating back to Sept. 28, 2009.

Wayne State is one of seven NSIC teams in the top 25 this week, along with top-ranked Southwest Minnesota State, No. 2 Concordia-St. Paul, No. 6 Minnesota Duluth, No. 13 Northern State, No. 14 Winona State and No. 17 Augustana. Other Central Region schools in the top 25 include No. 8 Central Oklahoma, No. 9 Nebraska-Kearney, No. 18 Arkansas Tech and No. 20 Central Missouri.

Wayne State will be on the road this weekend for NSIC contests at the University of Mary Friday night at 6 p.m. and Minot State Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
