Wildcats win twice on home court

With a trio of road NSIC matches next on the schedule, #8 Wayne State College closed off a two-match weekend.

From Rice Auditorium on the campus of Wayne State College, WSC entertained University of Mary on Saturday.

The host Wildcats were able to hold off a late push in the first set from the Marauders and picked up the sweep. WSC is now 10-2 (4-0 NSIC) as UMary fell to 1-10 (0-4 NSIC).

Scores of the match favored Wayne State College 25-19, 25-11, 25-11.

Brooklyn Kusler recorded 12 kills, two digs and two blocks followed by Taya Beller with 10 kills, five blocks (one solo) and two digs. Molly Romano posted 34 assists, seven digs, two kills and two blocks (one solo) as Channatee Robles (.474) led the team in digs with 14 to go along with nine kills and a block.

Brahmer added three kills and two blocks (one solo); Taylor Bunjer tacked on two kills and a block as Allie Petry (one dig), Laney Kathol and Ella Myler all had one kill. Other digs came from Brooke Peltz (13), Jordie Nekl (nine) and Anna Borner (two).

Kusler finished with two service aces as Robles, Romano, Peltz and Nekl all had an ace.

Wayne State College outhit UMary, .375 to .139. WSC also held advantages in points (55-34), kills (41-32), aces (6-1), blocks (8-1), assists (39-34) and digs (50-43).
