Wildcats women’s soccer falls at Upper Iowa, 2-1

The Wayne State women’s soccer team fell on the road Sunday, dropping a 2-1 decision at Upper Iowa in an NSIC matchup at Fayette, Iowa.
Natalie Rech got the Wildcts on the board 10 minutes into the first half with her third goal of the season, scoring on an assist by Sophie Ketchmark. Upper Iowa tied it up later in the first half to make it 1-1 at intermission.
The Peacocks scored the go-ahead goal at the 55:28 mark of the match off a corner kick, then held off Wayne State to pick up the win.
Rech led Wayne State with four shots while Karlee Hall and Calista Moch each had two shots. Kylie Comba was credited with four saves in goal.
Wayne State is 4-2-2 overall (1-2-2 NSIC) and will be at home next weekend for two non-divisional matchups. They host Northern State on Saturday and MSU Moorhead on Sunday, with games starting at 1 p.m. both days at the WSC Soccer Pitch.
