A busy week continued for the Winside boys wrestling team who hosted a home dual and home quad earlier in the week along with the Wakefield boys taking part in dual competition recently as both joined several area teams for a Saturday invitational.
From Wisner, 16 total teams made up the Wisner-Pilger Invite.
The Winside boys (five wrestlers) placed seventh with 66 points while the Wakefield boys (six wrestlers) finished 15th with 19 points.
Wisner-Pilger Invitational
Neligh-Oakdale won the Wisner-Pilger Invite with 123 points, East Butler followed in runner-up (116), Randolph took third (97.5), Sandy Creek placed fourth (80) and Homer rounded out the top five teams with 70.5 points.
The Winside boys were led by Stratton Sellin (144) and Korbin Carlson (150) in second place. Mason Edwards (138) took third, Asher Uttecht (157) finished fourth as Landon Carlson (132) placed fifth.
The Wakefield boys were led by Ruben Vega (165) who placed fifth as Baldwin Garcia (106), Lane Fischer (138) and Landon Ryion (150) all finished sixth. Other results came from Arnulfo Barboza (285) in eighth and Ezequiel Ramirez (165) in 12th.
