A champion was crowned Tuesday evening during the Lewis and Clark Conference volleyball tournament.
From Randolph, #4 Winside was in the third place match against #3 Tri County Northeast.
The co-op of Allen and Emerson-Hubbard picked up the 2-0 sweep over Winside (25-23, 25-16) to improve to 19-9 on the season.
Winside fell to 11-12.
During the Winside loss against Tri County Northeast, freshman Bridget Marotz recorded 12 kills and six digs to go along with seven blocks (four solo); sophomore Hadleigh Schutt posted 10 assists, five digs and four blocks as sophomore Katelyn Jaeger led Winside in digs with nine and had one kill.
Sophomore Ellie Topp added one kill, four blocks (one solo) and two digs as other digs came from senior Samantha Gubbels (seven), senior Skylar Spann (three) sophomore Raylyn Behmer with three blocks (three digs) and sophomore Adrianna Miller with one block (one dig).
Jaeger finished with three service aces as Spann and Topp both had an ace.
#2 Homer was crowned the Lewis and Clark Conference champion following a 3-0 sweep over #1 Wynot (25-16, 25-17, 25-18).
Winside will next close out their regular season on Thursday hosting Lyons-Decatur Northeast.
