Winside loses twice on home court, boys fall in OT

After taking part in weekend holiday tournament competition, the Winside basketball teams returned to the hardwood for weekend action.

  From Winside, the Wildcats hosted Lyons-Decatur Northeast on Friday.

The Winside girls suffered a 53-39 loss while the Wildcat boys dropped a game in overtime, 43-33 against Lyons-Decatur Northeast.

In the girls game, Winside was led in scoring by sophomore Ellie Topp with 12 points as freshman Bridget Marotz added eight points. The Winside girls fell to 2-6.

During the boys outing, Winside fell to 1-7.

The Wildcats were led in scoring by sophomore Tyler Paulsen with nine points and junior Caleb Offner added seven points.
