After having an April 1 track & field meet at Stanton canceled, Winside returned to outdoor action early in the week.
From Battle Creek, 11 girls and 11 boys teams made up the Battle Creek Invite on Tuesday.
The Winside girls finished 10th with nine points while the Winside boys tied for ninth with nine points.
In the girls division, the host Battle Creek was crowned champion with 128 points, Elkhorn Valley followed in runner-up (102.67), Norfolk Catholic took third (81.67), O'Neill placed fourth (64) and Stanton rounded out the top five teams with 58 points.
The Winside girls were led by sophomore Hadleigh Schutt finishing third in the discus (100' 1") along with a fifth place result in the shot put (32' 5 3/4"). Sophomore Katelyn Jaeger took sixth in the 3200-meter run (15:03.88).
The 4x400-meter relay team of sophomore Aleah Bilstein, sophomore Adrianna Miller, sophmore Hadley Sellin and freshman Bridget Martoz placed sixth (4:54.02).
During the boys action, the host Battle Creek more than doubled the next closest team with 202 total points to win their own invite, O'Neill followed in runner-up (67), Stanton took third (65), Norfolk Catholic placed fourth (44) and Summerland rounded out the top five teams with 43 points.
The Winside boys were led by junior Caleb Offner placing third in the shot put (52' 5") along with a fourth place mark in the discus at 140' 1".
The Winside girls and boys track & field team will next compete in the Wisner-Pilger Invite on Saturday, April 12.
