Winside girls cross country began the week with the Nebraska-Kearney High School Invite.
From the Kearney Country Club on Sept. 28, the Winside girls finished 23rd with 230 points among Class D action where there were 41 teams in represented. There are no boys out for XC this season.
In the girls division, Aleah Bilstein paced the Wildcats with a 72nd place finish during a time of 24:02.09.
One road and one home match recently took place for the Winside volleyball program.
First from Walthill on Sept. 24, the visiting Wildcats swept Walthill (25-10, 25-10, 25-11) followed by a home loss against Pender (17-25, 17-25, 12-25) on Sept. 28.
Winside is now 7-10 on the season.
During the 3-0 victory, Ellie Topp led Winside with nine kills and eight digs to go along with a pair of service aces and two blocks.
Raylyn Behmer dished out a team-high 22 assists followed by Adrianna Miller thanks to 15 assists, two kills and two aces.
In the loss with Pender, Topp (three digs/two blocks) and Katelyn Jaeger (eight digs) both recorded six kills.
After dropping three straight earlier in the month, the Winside football teams closed out September with a dominating home victory.
From Winside, the host Wildcats secured a 40-0 win on Sept. 25 over Omaha Nation.
Winside is now 2-3 on the season.
Carter Krause took over the ground attack with 19 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
Asher Uttecht recorded a team-high nine tackles (six solo) followed by Stratton Sellin with seven tackles (six solo) and a sack.
