Following just over a week off from action, the Winside girls cross country program traveled to Wayne.
From the Wayne Country Club, the Wildcats finished second among the two lone teams scoring points (33).
Again, there are no boys running cross country this fall for Winside.
In the girls division, Aleah Bilstein led the Wildcats with an eighth place finish (23:24.6).
After playing just one home match on Aug. 27, the Winside volleyball team has now played 12 straight on the road.
Starting on Sept. 8, the visiting Wildcats suffered a 3-0 loss at Wynot (27-29, 13-25, 14-25) before opening the Creighton Quad on Sept. 10 with a 2-0 win over Osmond (25-10, 25-9) followed by back-to-back losses against North Central (25-23, 16-25, 23-25) and the host Creighton (15-25, 21-25).
In recent action on Sept. 15, Winside swept both Homer (25-21, 25-22) and the host Osmond (25-12, 25-12) during a road triangular.
The Wildcats improved to 6-7 on the season.
It was off to the road for a second time in three weeks for Winside football in search of a Class D3 victory.
From Wynot, the visiting Wildcats dropped a 46-24 decision falling to 1-2.
The Blue Devils improved to 2-1.
All three touchdowns were produced from the ground game being led by Asher Uttecht on 17 carries for 120 yards.
Other rushing scores came from Baker Behmer on 11 rushes for 12 yards and Ryan Hawkins tallied two carries for three yards.
Stratton Sellin recorded seven solo stops while Uttecht also had seven tackles (five solo).
