Winside girls cross country runners adapted to the time change and new race location during the Sept. 3 Wisner-Pilger Invite.
Previously set for 5 p.m. in Beemer, Wisner River Park was the host site for the morning competition.
The Winside girls finished seventh with 125 points. There are no male Winside runners this season.
In the girls division, Avery Brummels captured a 10th place medal (21:57.8).
A road quadrangular and weeknight road match were on the schedule for Winside volleyball.
First on Sept. 3 from Bancroft, the Wildcats went 2-1 which included a pair of wins over Walthill (25-10, 25-13) and Leigh (25-21, 16-25, 25-21) but suffered a 2-1 loss against the host Bancroft-Rosalie (25-15, 14-25, 22-25).
Moving into road action on Sept. 8, Winside suffered a 3-0 loss at Wynot (27-29, 13-25, 14-25).
The Wildcats are now 3-5 on the season.
A pair of Class D3 Nebraska high school football teams took to the gridiron on Sept. 4.
From Winside, the host Wildcats dropped a 50-0 decision against Randolph.
Both teams are now 1-1 on the season.
