After being shutout to open their season, the Winside football team has now outscored their opponents 217-120 including a season-high in scoring on Sept. 26.
From Walthill, the visiting Wildcats raced out to a quick start winning 72-40 to improve to 4-1 and win their fourth straight.
The host Blujays held a 12-8 first quarter lead before Winside took over in the second quarter outscoring Walthill, 44-14 to lead 52-26 at half.
Winside extended their lead in the third with 14 points followed by Walthill winning the fourth, 14-6.
Senior Jayden Aschoff went 5-8 for 42 yards and one score for Winside. He added three rushes for 11 yards and one score.
Junior Carter Krause was dominant on the ground with 12 carries for 198 yards (16.5 yards per carry) and three touchdowns.
Sophomore Asher Uttecht added six rushes for 56 yards and a score while sophomore Silas Uttecht finished with four carries for 55 yards.
Sophomore Jahiem Hamik hauled in three catches for 19 yards and a score. He also recorded a 65-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Junior Stratton Sellin caught a 20-yard reception.
Junior Mason Edwards recorded five solo tackles, one tackle for loss and an interception while Krause had five tackles (three solo).
Senior Matthew Gubbels added four solo stops and an interception as freshman Braxton Hansen tallied three tackles (two solo).
A defensive touchdown came from junior Tyler Paulsen who recovered a fumble in the end zone along with a tackle for loss.
Other tackles for loss came from junior Braxton Rastede and Statton Sellin.
Stratton Sellin, Edwards, Paulsen and Rastede all recorded a sack.
Asher Uttecht also had an interception recording a pick-six for a 15-yard return.
The Wildcats converted all nine of their two-point conversions.
The Winside football team will next host Bancroft-Rosalie on Friday, October 3 starting at 7 p.m.
