Winside XC competes in Albion

Members of the Winside cross country program took part in the Tom Dickey Invite on Sept. 26.

From the Albion Country Club, over 100 runners were in action.

No team scoring was recorded by Winside.

In the girls division, junior Aleah Bilstein just missed the medal stand with a 16th place finish (25:05.9).

Another Wildcat result came from freshman Leah Uttecht (28th - 27:03.1) as freshman Avery Brummels had no time.

The host Boone Central held off Central City (36-41) in the team standings.

Junior Azlynn Johnson from Stanton won the girls 5k in a time of 21:11.9 among the 42 runners.

The lone Winside male was junior Ben Uttecht (58th - 30:36.2).

Elkhorn Valley won the boys division with 31 points ahead of Stanton in runner-up (39).

Junior Jaiden Anderson from Archangels Catholic (Humphrey) crossed the line in first during a time of 18:17.5 on the 5k course among the 59 runners.
