A pair of girls golfers will make up this year's Tri County Northeast Wolfpack program.
Among the co-op for Allen and Emerson-Hubbard, Alissa Hendrix will be in her third season guiding the team.
"We're just getting started and focusing mostly on our short game these first two weeks," said Hendrix.
Golfers are senior Emily Stamm from Emerson-Hubbard along with junior Grace Ankeny from Allen.
With her family being big into the sport of golf, Stamm competed in some different tournaments over the summer.
She started with Tri County Northeast last season and has golfed with family over the summers for quite awhile.
Stamm is looking forward to golfing at the Wayne Invite on August 29 at 9 a.m.
"We will be a little more familiar with the course for this year," said Stamm. "It's one that we've practiced at and had quite a few meets at. So, it's nice to kind of have that as like a 'back pocket' course."
Her favorite club is the seven iron.
Ankeny, who's favorite club is her seven iron or driver, picked up the sport of golf her freshman year and golfed four to five different courses this summer with her friends. She is excited to achieve a new personal best.
Along with the short-game being fine-tuned, the two golfers are also trying to find ways to recover if their first shot isn't their best.
"Short game is definitely something you need to worry about," said Ankeny. "Because once you get more than two putts it definitely adds up pretty quickly."
The group practices at Twin Creeks Golf Course just outside of Pender.
Goals include their attitude, progress from last year while staying positive.
With just a team of two, the upperclassmen want to share a message with their classmates to keep the Wolfpack program going.
"I'd say do it, it's an opportunity and it's fun," said Ankeny. "Once you put in the hard work and dedication the first few weeks and then once you get to the meets it just flies. It's a good time, you get to meet new people and new friends."
"It's okay to be uncomfortable," said Stamm. "If you feel dumb you're doing it right sometimes. If you're feeling comfortable, that means you're not improving. Don't be afraid to try new things."
The Wolfpack began their season on August 21 at the West Point-Beemer Invite in Beemer at Indian Trails Country Club. The two golfers were preparing for the hills in Beemer.
Results will be shared once available.
Next up will be the Wayne Invite on August 29 at 9 a.m.
