Just a few days after qualifying for their first district final as a co-op of Allen and Emerson-Hubbard, Tri County Northeast fought to the very end during the Nov. 1 District final round.

From Shelton in the D1-5 District final, #12 Tri County Northeast suffered a 3-0 loss at #5 Shelton (18-25, 15-25, 20-25).

The Wolfpack ended their season at 24-6.

Senior Kiya Tornez posted a team-high 12 kills to go along with six digs and a block.

Junior Joslyn Mackling followed with nine kills, 10 digs and two service aces.

Sophomore Ally Belt finished with 22 assists, six digs and two kills. She also had a service ace and a block.

Junior Emily Mitchell led the Wolfpack with 11 digs.

Junior Briley Anderson tallied four kills, two blocks and a dig.

Senior Sam Rastede tacked on two digs as did sophomore Maddie Franzluebers.

This will still be a season to remember for quite some time for the Wolfpack who produced 20 wins last season in Class C2.

This year, TCNE won the Hartington-Newcastle Invite on Oct. 11, finished runner-up during the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament (falling to only #1 in Class D2 Wynot) and held a pair of eight-match winning streaks (Sept. 4 - 22 going 19-4 in sets played/Oct. 11 - 20 going 18-4 in sets played).

Shelton advanced as the sixth-best team in Class D1 among the top eight at state which begins Nov. 6 in Lincoln.
