Wolfpack's Jorgensen punches ticket to fourth straight boys state golf championships, LCC and Wakefield close out season at districts

Several northeast Nebraska boys high school golf teams took to the course in the Class C ranks.

From Fair Play Golf Course in Norfolk, Wakefield and Laurel-Concord-Coleridge were represented on Monday.

No team scoring was posted by the three Wakefield golfers while LCC recorded a 395 among the 14 teams with complete scores.

Norfolk Catholic led the field with a 309, Battle Creek followed in runner-up with a 325 as Pender took the last state qualifying spot with a 336 (one shot ahead of Cedar Catholic and West Holt).

William Brockhaus from Norfolk Catholic finished with a 72 to win the C-3 District Championships.

Tri County Northeast tied for 10th as a team with a 379.

Ben Jorgensen tied for second and fied third following a playoff scorecard shooting a round of 76. He has now qualified for state all four years with the Wolfpack.

For Wakefield, Jacob Birkley was three shots off a top 10 state qualifying spot with an 83 to tie for 17th. Other results for the Trojans came from Drew Kubik with a 116 and Lane Fischer shot a 139.

Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was led by Talon Carson with a 95 followed by Cade Johnson with a 96. Gibson Roberts shot a 100 as Tanner Thompson and Luke Erwin both finished with a 104.

The 2025 NSAA Boys State Golf Championships are set for Wednesday and Thursday, May 28 - 29. Class A will compete at the Kearney Country Club in Kearney; Class B at Monument Shadows Golf Course in Gering, Class C at the Jackrabbit Run Golf Course in Grand Island as well as Class D at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus.
