The Wayne State women’s outdoor track and field team is ranked 21st in the latest U.S. Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Div. II Women’s Outdoor Track and Field National Team Computer Rankings.
The Wildcats received a total of 54.71 points in the national rankings based on performers who have achieved NCAA automatic and/or provisional qualifying marks during the regular season. The Wildcats are one of three teams from the NSIC listed in the top 25, with Minnesota Duluth eighth and Minnesota State 23rd.
Individually for Wayne State, Michaela Dendinger ranks second in NCAA Div. II in the shot put (52’ 1 ¾”), second in the hammer throw (204’ 4”) and fifth in the discus (172’10”), all automatic qualifying marks.
Wayne State will compete Friday and Saturday at the NSIC Outdoor Championships in St. Paul, Minn.
