Wayne Chicken Show
Earlier this month, Wayne hosted the 46th annual Wayne Chicken Show, celebrating "250 Years of Feathered Freedom."
We want to start by saying thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, participated or visited. This event would not be a success without you!
Overall, the weekend went very smoothly and the feedback we have received from vendors, visitors and community members has been very positive. Friday night we had a well-attended car show, a successful cement chicken auction, a great lineup of vendors and Southern Nights ended the evening with a great show.
Saturday also featured strong attendance across all events.
A special thank you goes out to our vendors, Wayne Kiwanis, Wayne Rotary, City Staff, Wayne Police Department and the Chicken Show Committee. An event this size takes a lot of volunteers and we are thankful to those who stepped up.
Beyond the fun, the Chicken Show matters to Wayne's bottom line. Every year, it brings visitors from all over the region into downtown Wayne, filling our restaurants, shops and hotels for the weekend. That is a direct win for the local businesses in the community.
We are proud of what this event has become over 46 years, and even prouder of the community that shows up for it every single time. Thank you, Wayne. See you at the 47th.
Vendor Golf
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 39th annual Business & Industry Vendor Golf outing and a big thank you to all of our sponsors. We had over 28 teams participate making it a great day of golf!
