Ball Fields & Utilities
The storm and sanitary sewer work is officially wrapped up on the future ballfield project. Odey's has started on the physical ball fields, and Claussen will begin working on the sprinkler system soon. Keep an eye out for the new scoreboards—the posts went up last week and the boards are on the way!
TR Harris finished pouring concrete for the drop-off area by the garage and most of the existing trail needing replaced. Next, they are tackling is the north-south trail up to Fourth Street. NoSwett Fencing will soon set the posts for the new batting cage, and our City crew will follow up to pour the concrete.
Viken Park
Our Parks and Streets crews are working on new six-foot sidewalks and a pad for a future gazebo, which will be built by a Wayne State College class and donated by the Wayne Rotary.
Prairie Park
The park has been very busy with camping and fishing all summer. The public is enjoying the walking trail around the lake. We also recently planted 13 more trees donated by Country Nursery around the lake and landscaped the north roundabout to make room for a future art or athletic sculpture.
Don't forget to come to Bressler Park for Bressler Fest (music in the park) which began on Sept. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. This will take place for four Sundays ending on Oct. 4.
