Former Wayne State All-American Ashley Harris was the runaway winner of the Molten MVP Award handed out to the top player of the Women’s British Basketball League.
The former Ashley Arlen dominated play in the WBBL this season, averaging 25.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game in leading the Nottingham Wildcats to this weekend’s league tournament championship game. She led the Wildcats to the league’s regular-season title and they also won the Betty Codona Classic.
Harris shot an astounding 63 percent from the field and was the league’s No. 2 shot blocker, averaging 1.2 per game. She also was named to the league’s weekly All-Star Five team 17 times in 23 weeks this season.
