WSC Beach volleyball picks up two more wins in Arizona

Afternoon beach volleyball featured Wayne State College to open the week in Arizona.

From the Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Arizona, WSC took part in doubleheader action against Park University Gilbert (AZ).

The Wildcats began with a five set victory followed by  4-1 decision over Park University Gilbert. WSC has now won four straight improving to 7-2 on the season and have gone 5-1 in Arizona.

In the first win, all three Wayne State victories were sweeps while the two matches the Wildcats lost both went three sets.

Wildcat wins were recorded by Chloe Hanel and Channatee Robles in the 2s pairing 21-11, 21-6.  Reese Johnson and Ella Myler at the #4 duo won 21-15, 21-5 and in the 5s match Rhianna Wilhelm and Brooke Peltz rolled to a 21-9, 21-6 win.

The Wildcat #1 pairing of Taylor Bunjer and Ava Spies fell in three sets by scores of 21-16, 19-21, 10-15 and the 3s duo of Brooklyn Kusler and Molly Romano suffered a 19-21, 21-10, 8-15 loss.

During the second outing, two of Wayne State’s four wins came in three-set contests as the #3 pairing of Molly Romano and Brooklyn Kusler rallied for a 13-21, 21-19, 15-13 win. The 4s match with Reese Johnson and Ella Myler also went three sets with the Wildcat duo prevailing 21-17, 19-21, 15-7.

Wayne State’s two other wins were in sweeps as the #2 duo of Chloe Hanel and Channatee Robles won 21-10, 21-10 and the 5s pairing of Laney Kathol and Anna Borner recorded a 21-11, 21-13 victory.
