WSC beach volleyball sweeps Mesa Community College

A series of four doubleheaders began Sunday for the Wayne State College beach volleyball team continuing their Arizona spring break trip.

From Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona, WSC competed against Mesa Community College.

The Wildcats first picked up a 4-1 win followed by a 3-2 victory over Mesa Community College. WSC is now 5-2 on the season.

During the first win, scores of individual matches were not available early Sunday evening.

Pairings that posted wins included Chloe Hanel and Channatee Robles, Molly Romano and Brooklyn Kusler, Reese Johnson and Ella Myler and Brooke Peltz and Rhianna Wilhelm.

In exhibition matches, WSC won all three contests in sweeps record by the pairings of Anna Borner and Laney Kathol, Jolee Ryan and Kaelyn Andersen and Gracen Evans and Bella Hedke.

From the second victory over Mesa Community College, scores of individual matches were not available early Sunday evening.

Pairings that posted wins included Molly Romano and Brooklyn Kusler, Reese Johnson and Ella Myler and Brooke Peltz and Rhianna Wilhelm.

Both Wildcat losses at the #1 (Taylor Bunjer/Ava Spies) and #2 pairings (Chloe Hanel/Channatee Robles) came in three sets.

In the exhibition contest, Wayne State’s Anna Borner and Laney Kathol posted a straight-set win.
