Season 2025 for Wayne State College volleyball begins September 4 - 6 in Nashville, TN.

The Wildcats will be on the road playing 10 matches through September 20 before returning to home on Tuesday, September 23 hosting Augustana at 6 p.m.

With that break, head coach Scott Kneifl said, "our Black/Gold scrimmage is larger than 3/4 of the crowds we play at on the road in the Northern Sun. A great turnout, obviously a lot of families but there were a lot of students here checking out the 'Cats. You see a lot of people that care about Wayne State volleyball here and it was fun to see."

The coaches thought it was good and something changes when you put on the uniform.

"We've been practicing really hard and playing a lot of six on six," said Kneifl. "When there's people in the stands that you care about and some students here, there's some nerves. They worked through and I was really proud of them. I thought both sides played really well."

Two All-Americans suited up in Rachel Walker and Taya Beller.

"They still have it and they're still really good," said Kneifl. "Their side came out on the short side but it wasn't because they weren't trying. Taya has been coming to practice with us every once and a while but she's going to be here more now. She's getting ready to return back to her second year with the Atlanta Vibe. Rachel did a great job and it's fun to see them come back and want to come back."

Wayne State College played four sets to 25 on August 25. They were able to mix up their line-up and 'saw some good things and some not so good things."

WSC will depart on September 2 and will have a big week coming up of practice to see who is going to be on the starting side and who's going to contribute early on.

The Wildcats will face Henderson State at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, Alabama Huntsville at 12:15 p.m. and Erskine College (SC) at 4:45 p.m. both on Friday, September 5 and close with the host Trevecca Nazarene at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 all in Nashville, TN.

WSC will turn around and compete in the Colorado Premier held in Denver, Colorado opening with Lewis University (IL) at 11 a.m. CT followed by MSU Denver at 3 p.m. CT both on Friday, September 12. Wayne State College will play two more matches on September 13.

The NSIC opener for the Wildcats will be at Minnesota Crookston on September 19 and at MSU Moorhead on September 20.
