The road to Sioux Falls, South Dakota begins in the round of 64 during the 2025 NCAA DII volleyball tournament where #4 in the nation, Wayne State College is making their 14th postseason appearance in program history.
Following a year away from the national tourney, the co-NSIC regular season champion Wildcats (27-4) have been tabbed the #3 seed in the Central Region and will travel to Kearney. WSC will face #6 (#7 DII) Washburn (26-4) on Dec. 4 at 11 a.m.
The winner will face the winner of either #2 (#6 DII) Concordia-St. Paul (26-5) or #7 (#11 DII) Central Oklahoma (27-5).
Other Regional qualifiers include the host #1 (#2 DII) MIAA champion Nebraska-Kearney (29-3) vs. #8 GAC champion Oklahoma Baptist (22-9) and #4 (#5 DII) NSIC champion St. Cloud State (26-6) vs. #5 (#17 DII) Missouri Western.
#13 (DII) Southwest Minnesota State (21-7) along with #25 (DII) Minnesota State-Mankato (23-6) are two NSIC teams who finished the season nationally ranked but will miss tourney.
The eight regional winners will compete in the 2025 NCAA DII Elite Eight, Final Four and Championship matches Dec. 11-13 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Wildcats were last in action on Nov. 21 and saw their 14-match win streak come to an end during a four-set loss against St. Cloud State in St. Paul, MN. The Wildcats enter the postseason at 27-4 after earning a regular season share of the NSIC with Concordia-St. Paul.
In the NSIC semifinal defeat to the Huskies (eventual champion), freshman Delaney Miller recorded a team-high 24 kills to go along with four digs while junior Channatee Robles posted a double-double with 11 kills and 18 digs (two aces, two blocks).
Sophomore Chloe Hanel added 11 kills, five blocks (one solo) and two digs.
Sophomore Molly Romano finished with 48 assists, six digs and three blocks.
Redshirt junior Reese Johnson led WSC in digs with 21.
